Jack Lodge Professional Photographer

“My work spans from ancient woodlands hidden within the Dorset countryside to the blue-hour streets of Venice and the rolling seas of the Arctic. Whether photographing wild owls or polar bears, I’d like to think my approach is rooted in planning, patience, persistence and perseverance.

I truly believe a camera becomes a bridge between imagination and reality. Through customisation and familiarity, my camera has become an extension of my hand, allowing ideas to flow instinctively from vision to final image”

Jack Lodge is a professional landscape and nature photographer, educator, public speaker and Canon EMEA Ambassador, based in Wimborne, Dorset, in the South West of England.

Jack's photographic journey began in 2014, shortly after graduating with a degree in Architecture. Inspired by a university trip to Venice, where his appreciation for light, structure and atmosphere first began to flourish, he picked up his first Canon camera with little idea of where it might lead. What started as a creative outlet soon developed into an all-consuming passion for photography, the great outdoors and the stories waiting to be discovered through a lens.

More than a decade later, photography has become both his profession and his way of life.

At the heart of Jack's work is a fascination with the changing seasons and the extraordinary ways in which light, weather and time transform the natural world. From mystical ancient woodlands and atmospheric landscapes across Dorset and the British Isles to the blue-hour streets of Venice and the remote wilderness of the Arctic, his photographs seek to capture more than simply a place. They aim to preserve the atmosphere, emotion and fleeting moments that make each experience so special.

Alongside his landscape photography, Jack has developed a deep passion for wildlife, photographing everything from wild owls and birds of prey close to home to golden eagles, polar bears and other remarkable species in some of the world's most remote environments. His approach remains rooted in the same principles that first inspired his landscapes: planning, patience, persistence and an appreciation for the unpredictable beauty of nature.

In October 2026, Jack was appointed a Canon Ambassador across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), marking a significant milestone in a journey that began with his first Canon EOS 100D twelve years earlier.

Having worked closely with Canon for several years through workshops, educational presentations and industry events, this new chapter provides an exciting opportunity to share his passion for photography, inspire the next generation of image-makers and continue exploring the creative possibilities of the Canon imaging system.

A passionate advocate for the entire photographic process, Jack believes that capturing an image is only the beginning of its story. From researching locations and anticipating the perfect conditions to carefully processing an image and producing the final fine-art print, every stage plays an important part in bringing his creative vision to life. For Jack, seeing a photograph on paper is one of the most rewarding moments of all, transforming a fleeting experience into something tangible that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Education and inspiring others are equally important parts of Jack's work. Through immersive photography workshops, private tuition, online education and presentations across the UK, he encourages photographers of all abilities to develop their technical confidence, discover their own creative vision and, most importantly, enjoy the journey. His teaching combines practical knowledge with a genuine enthusiasm for exploring the outdoors and embracing the unexpected.

Whether standing beneath a sky full of stars, waiting patiently for a wildlife encounter or watching the first light illuminate a familiar landscape, Jack's philosophy remains the same: to slow down, appreciate the world around us and never lose the excitement of discovering something new.

Through his photography, workshops, prints and talks, he hopes to inspire others to pick up a camera, venture outdoors and create stories of their own, one moment, one season and one photograph at a time.

“We've just finished a 3-day private workshop with Jack, and what a fabulous time we had. Jack is an absolute blast - he's hugely experienced, a great teacher, lovely company and guide. I can't recommend him highly enough - our group was pretty experienced photographers, which Jack totally took into account and tailored accordingly.”
