After the huge number of requests at The Photography Show in Birmingham to do one of these again, over a longer time, I’m excited to spend a second evening with you all going through the setup of my Canon R5II (also applicable to the Canon R6III if anyone upgraded at the show or since the last time we did one of these)
I will literally plug in my camera, reset everything to factory settings, and walk you through step by step how I set-up everything for landscape and wildlife photography.
We will go through every menu of my Canon R5II from start to finish, covering the following things that can be applied to most/if not all other camera brands just with different names:
What camera mode to use for what occasion (Manual, Aperture Priority, Custom Modes)
How to setup your own custom modes for quick changing subjects in the field
Custom button layouts for speed/precision/accuracy
Image quality settings and custom picture styles
Drive modes, timers, hidden long exposure function (without a clumsy remote)
Go-to camera settings for landscape and wildlife (shutter speed, aperture and ISO)
Autofocus tips for what we call “sticky focus” to keep track of your subject
Subject tracking and eye detection
Pre-Continuous Shooting - how and when to use it efficiently
There will of course be an open floor for questions throughout (depending on the number of questions, I may answer them all at the end) - if you use Canon as well, you can follow along live, or if you’re using another brand, take the tips and tricks and apply them to your own camera (names of settings and button layout will be different, but take the concept and use it as you wish).
Join me for roughly 90 minutes and block out your diary - I will send a Zoom link 7 days before but will also record the session and keep it live for 14 days if you’re unable to attend last-minute.
